Innerhalb der neuen Buchreihe sollen die großen Themen unserer Gesellschaft Raum zur Entfaltung und einen Ort zur Diskussion finden, um neue Impulse für Politik, Wissenschaft und Zivilgesellschaft zu geben. Darin wird wissenschaftliche Expertise vereint mit neuen Standpunkten Politik und Praxis. Im Kern steht vor allem die Suche nach Alternativen, das aktive Formulieren von Handlungsoptionen und die Frage, wie wir uns die Zukunft unserer Gesellschaft vorstellen. Wir wollen damit einen bewussten Kontrapunkt setzen gegenüber den kurzen Aufmerksamkeitsspannen der derzeit dominierenden digitalen und visuellen Medien, die innerhalb von 140 twitter-Zeichen oder 45-minütigen Talkshows stattfinden. Mit jedem Band der Reihe wird ein thematischer Schwerpunkt gesetzt (Kapitalismus, Globalisierung, Armut, und es werden drei bis vier herausragende Persönlichkeiten aus je Wissenschaft, Politik und Praxis eingeladen, ihren Standpunkt und ihr Bild der Zukunft in je einem Interview mit uns zu diskutieren. Auf ca. 120 Seiten sollen somit vier unterschiedliche Perspektiven auf die Kontroversen unserer Gesellschaft eröffnet werden – fundiert, diskursiv und meinungsstark!​
