This open access book offers new insights on how migration researchers’ work is shaped by their countries’ socio-political histories; their ideological and theoretical orientations; workplace structures and cultures; conceptual and linguistic variation; and their knowledge, skills, and habits of mind. While there is ample agreement on the value of international collaborative research on migration there are few granular descriptions of how this work is initiated and managed, how roles and relationships are negotiated, and what contextual factors facilitate or impede the collaboration. This book helps scholars in the Global North and the Global South, as well as research administrators and funding agencies, develop a more nuanced understanding of international collaborative research.
