In the civilian tactical environment, seconds count. TECC: Tactical Emergency Casualty Care, Third Edition trains EMS clinicians of all levels how to safely respond to and care for casualties of active shootings, vehicle rammings, and other intentional attacks in a civilian tactical environment. This program is designed to teach every learner how to decrease preventable deaths.

Developed by the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT), TECC, Third Edition reflects current medical knowledge and practice, and promotes critical thinking as the foundation for providing quality care. The Third Edition is consistent with the most recent Committee for Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (C-TECC) advanced life support / basic life support (ALS/BLS) guidelines.

The Third Edition features:

• A course manual with an engaging, interactive design
• Updated content to reflect evidence-based guidelines in current practice
• Lessons that address each component of the MARCH assessment, feature new real-world active shooter/hostile event (ASHE) scenarios, and include new teach-back components
• All-new patient simulations that explore active shooter events, knife attacks, vehicle rammings, and more
• Skill drills for tourniquet application, wound packing, needle decompression, and more
• Considerations for pediatric casualties and other special patient populations
• New emphasis on psychological response to mass casualty incidents and EMS clinician mental health and recovery
