Rattle and Hum are two defective robots who inadvertently are wrongly labelled "detective". Instead of being sent for dismantling, they are shipped off to the local police station where they are given the task of finding Cannonball Kate's cutlass and false teeth biscuit cutters.

Rattle and Hum, robot detectives, are on the case of a mysterious robbery. The list of suspects is small. Who, besides a toothless pirate, would want to steal a cutlass and a pair of false teeth.
