This volume contains a selection of conference papers which demonstrate the range of research into various cases of traumatization, such as childhood experiences of incest, intrafamilial violence, shipping accidents and survivors of war.
This publication presents nine articles based on contributions to the 2nd European Conference on Traumatic Stress. The contributions demonstrate the diversity in the field of psychotraumatology by presenting studies involving various cases of traumatization such as incest during childhood, intrafamilial violence, shipping accidents, and survivors of war. Furthermore, an ethological study on a symptom observed in maltreated domestic animals illustrates the relevance of comparative biology to the understanding of possible parallels with postraumatic states in human childhood.
