A meditative, gospel-centered, practical, and prayerful study on Philippians for individuals or small groups, including forty days of short, 15-minute guided Bible studies written by a respected scholar for everyday Christians.

"I cannot think of a greater gift to the church than a biblically rooted devotional series that spans the entire New Testament." --R. Albert Mohler, President, The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary Forty days in the letter Paul wrote from prison with joy Paul wrote his letter to the Philippians from a prison cell. Facing the real possibility of execution, he wrote not with despair but with joy--because his attitudes about life and death had been transformed by the gospel. Jesus's death and resurrection defeated death and gave us hope. And in Philippians, Paul exhorts us to adopt the mind of Christ so that we too can have supernatural hope and joy--not when circumstances are favorable, but because Christ is all. Philippians: A 40-Day Bible Study is meditative, gospel-centered, practical, and prayerful--designed to be completed in 15 minutes or less each day. Over forty days, you will: ● Read and reflect on Philippians, passage by passage ● Meditate on Jesus and the good news--with each day's reflection tracing how the text points to Christ ● Pray through Philippians--guided prayers that help you respond to what you've read ● Apply God's Word to your life--with suggestions for further study or group discussion This is the first volume in the Planted in the Word series--a New Testament Bible study series written by respected evangelical scholars for everyday Christians. Other volumes include studies of Matthew (Charles Quarles), Mark (Brian Vickers), Ephesians (Benjamin Merkle), and 2 Timothy and Titus (Sam Storms), with more titles forthcoming. Each volume includes a reading plan for group study, making the series ideal for small groups as well as individual use. Fifteen minutes a day. Forty days.
