In 2027, the Albertina will dedicate a comprehensive exhibition to Parmigianino (1503 Parma – 1540 Casalmaggiore), one of the most prominent painters of Italian Mannerism. The elegance and grace of his figures, as well as the refined beauty and poetic charm of his compositions, fascinated his contemporaries and continue to resonate today. Featuring high-caliber loans from major European collections, the exhibition provides an overview of the artist’s entire oeuvre and stylistic development. The accompanying catalog explores Parmigianino’s extensive work as a painter, draftsman, etcher, and print designer, while also presenting several new discoveries.
