The monograph New Home offers a focused insight into the recent practice of Yeşim Akdeniz. Published on the occasion of her comprehensive exhibition at Galerie der Stadt Backnang, it brings together a foreword by Martin Schick, a text by Ela Atakan and a two-part interview with the artist conducted by Yekhan Pınarlıgil. Covering the past five years of her work, the book traces the ways in which themes of migration, identity, and cultural codes are transformed within Yeşim Akdeniz’s artistic language. Designed by Ulaş Uğur, the publication itself becomes a reflection of the artists approach: its special folding cover and dual attached parts echo the layered structures present in her works.
