This illustrated book documents the aesthetic of the boulevard and the Strausberger Platz. It shows moreover how well contemporary lifestyles and designs can be integrated into the socialist classicist buildings whose exterior the Soviet expression "gingerbread style" only insufficiently describes. You can easily detect Bauhaus, Modernity, Manhattan and the (East) German interpretation of all those styles by the architects Henselmann and Paulick. The selection of pictures of the facade, reliefs, arcades and mosaic pictures confirm the diversity and value of the materials and construction, where antique and modern elements merge.
