It's the chance of a lifetime...

Aria wants more.

More than a life in the shadow of her famous husband. More than marriage. More than people here in Siena expect of a woman nearing 40.

But is she brave enough to do it? The Palio is the world's most dangerous horserace held on the cobbled streets of her beloved city. Only one woman, Rompicollo, ever dared to ride before. And Aria wants to be next.

Ever since she was a little girl, Aria has dreamt of crossing that legendary finish line and hearing the crowds roar only for her.

Now, struggling against the will of her controlling, charismatic ex-husband to hold onto her horses, the dream seems further away than ever. But when an English filmmaker, Oliver, arrives in Siena to make a documentary about the Palio, it seems like she might have her chance.

And as they begin to spend more time together, Aria wonders if maybe - just maybe - there's another dream she might have given up on too soon . . .
